Tales of Olympus: A Greek Myth Musical

Book, Music & Lyrics by Min Kahng
Originally directed by Emily Morrison
World Premiere: December 8, 2012

The Story
Peering down from their home on Mt. Olympus, the ancient Greek gods see a fast-paced, modern world filled with high-tech distractions. Holy Thunderbolts! Who will remember their stories?

Calliope, the goddess of epic poetry, descends from the mountaintop to enlist the help of a mortal. But will this mortal, Jason, have the guts to overcome his stagefright and become the next bard?

The Production
The world premiere of Tales of Olympus: A Greek Myth Musical was a success! This production was made possible thanks to individual donors, the Clorox Foundation, and the East Bay Community Foundation who provided us with an $8000 matching grant!

The show then went on tour to over 25 Bay Area elementary & middle schools, including several in underserved communities, in January and February of 2013! The tour was partially funded by a generous grant from the Safeway Foundation.

In September 2015, Tales of Olympus Jr. will have its world premiere at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton, CA. This exciting new version of the show, specifically designed with the young actor in mind, will be produced by Bay Area Children's Theatre and Civic Arts Stage Company.
